The picture is from Josh's best friend's wedding.
Josh's mom, Marianne, passed away in November of 2008. Not a day goes by that he doesn't think about her - and it is hard to imagine a wedding without her there. We know that we'll find many ways to include her memory in our special day, and we'd love it if you'll help us do that.
We're grateful that Josh's dad Murray lives nearby and that we get to see him on a regular basis.
Josh gave Rachel an engagement ring that includes the same diamond that Murray gave Marianne for their engagement.

This picture is from Rachel's rabbinic ordination, just a few weeks before she and Josh met.
We love living near enough to Rachel's parents to see them on a regular basis, for Josh to play basketball with Stuart, and to get to plan the wedding with Laurel.
Scott - you should move back to Boston. We miss you.

Matron of Honor and Bridesmaid

Meg Lederman, Matron of Honor, has been Rachel's best friend since freshman year of Brandeis. They met in the parking lot outside of East (their dorm), when Rachel's dad recognized the girl in the car behind them as her future roommate.
Elana Fein, Bridesmaid, has been the third in their trio since she finally decided to talk to Rachel and Meg (and eat ice cream on the floor of their dorm room) at the end of sophomore year of college. They all lived together in Ziv 127 apartment 403 - and R/M wanted to lock Elana in her room to keep her from going to Israel for a semester.

Bridesmaid (Honorary sister)

Erica Ferraro, Bridesmaid (aka "Smith"), is one of Josh's oldest and dearest friends - in spite of being the unfortunate recipient of many height-related comments. The two met during high school while in USY (a Conservative Jewish youth group), and have remained close through the years. The bond between Erica and Josh has carried into his relationship with Rachel, and the two women have become fast friends themselves.
Best Man

Mark Veligor, Best Man, has known Josh since the pair were grade schoolers in Peabody, MA. Mark has been one of Josh's closest friends since high school, and is looking forward to his chance to play the role that Josh filled at Mark's wedding.
Groomsman

Isaac Gerofsky, Groomsman, has been a close friend and confidante of Josh's for years. More than anything, they bond over their love of sports, sharing duties as captains of a number of softball and kickball teams over the years.
Groomsman (Rachel's brother)

Scott Silverman, Groomsman, is Rachel's baby brother....who, somewhere along the way, surpassed her in both height and wisdom. It makes Rachel smile to watch Scott and Josh tease, joke, and play basketball together. Someday the SilverBob kids are going to beg to "go hang out at cool Uncle Scott's house."
Ring Bearer

Max, ring bearer, is the son of Rachel's matron of honor. It is unclear which one of us loves Max more.
What is not unclear, however, is which one of us Max loves more. He may have said "Rachel" before he said "Ima" (Hebrew for mom), but he has quickly switched from calling Rachel by her name to greeting her with "Where's Josh?" every time he sees her. His face lights up when Josh walks into the room.
Max holds a special place in each of our hearts. We like to think we're his pseudo aunt and uncle. Rachel loves getting to see Max multiple times a week, either for a visit with his mom, a play date in the park, or at KI for Hebrew playgroup on Friday mornings.
